The Sound section is on the Edit tab.

Sound effects

ClipCat comes with 13 sound effects of its own. Each has a meaning, and the AI editor uses those meanings to pick them.

Effect Use it for
Whoosh Moving on to a new topic, section or scene.
Swish Something sliding in: a title, a list item, a picture.
Pop Something small appearing, or a quick point.
Click Pressing a button or choosing something.
Tick Counting through a list, one per item.
Ding An idea landing.
Chime Success: a goal reached or a win.
Riser Building tension up to a reveal. It lands on the word it leads into.
Boom Weight on a bold claim or a punchline.
Blip A tip, or "here's the thing".
Buzz A mistake, or "don't do this".
Shutter A photo or screenshot.
Record scratch A sudden stop or twist.

Open Sound library at the bottom of the section and choose the play button to hear each one.

Add one: select a word in the transcript and pick an effect from Sound…. It lands on the first selected word, timed so its hit falls on that word. The AI editor also suggests effects with its first edit, at most one every 15 seconds.

Change one: the effects in the edit are listed in play order. Click one to play it. Its menu sets the volume: Soft, Normal or Loud. The cross removes it.

Music

  1. Choose Add music and pick an audio file (MP3, M4A, AAC, WAV, FLAC, OGG, Opus or AIFF).
  2. Pick the volume: Quiet, Low, Medium or Loud.
  3. Leave Lower the music while you talk ticked to have the music dip under your voice.

The music loops to the length of the edit and fades in and out. Change music swaps the file, and the cross removes it.

In the export, speech, effects and music are mixed with a limiter so nothing clips. The preview's dip under your voice is close to the export's, not exact.
