# Add zooms, b-roll and slides

Zooms, b-roll and slides all sit on words in the transcript, so they follow those words through later cuts.

## Zooms

A zoom moves in on you for a few seconds to give a line weight.

**Add one**: select the words in the transcript and choose **Zoom in**. The AI editor also suggests zooms with its first edit.

**Change one**: the **Zooms** section on the **Edit** tab lists every zoom in play order. Click one to play it. Its menu sets how it moves:

- **Jump**: cuts straight to the closer frame.
- **Smooth**: pushes in quickly.
- **Slow**: creeps in slowly over the line.

The cross removes it. Zooms the AI suggests are kept at least 10 seconds apart. The zoom aims at your face, in the preview and in the export.

## B-roll

B-roll shows your own pictures and clips over you while you keep talking.

### Add pictures and clips

1. On the **Edit** tab, in **B-roll**, choose **Add pictures or clips**.
2. Pick pictures (JPEG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, GIF, BMP or TIFF) or videos.
3. ClipCat makes a light copy and a few frames of each. The AI editor looks at the frames and writes what each one shows.

Check the text under **What this shows**. The AI editor reads it to decide where each one fits, so correct it if it's wrong. The cross next to a picture or clip removes it from the project.

### Put b-roll in the edit

Select words in the transcript and pick one from **B-roll…**. Or choose **Suggest an edit**, and the AI editor suggests b-roll where a line matches.

### Change how it shows

The b-roll in the edit is listed in play order under the pictures and clips. For each one:

- **Full frame** covers the whole picture, or **Picture in picture** shows it in a corner.
- For picture in picture, pick the shape (**Rectangle**, **Square** or **Circle**) and the corner.
- The cross removes it from the edit.

Video b-roll plays without its own sound. Captions stay on top of it.

## Motion slides

A slide is a short animated card: a section title, a list of steps, or a number. The AI editor designs it in ClipCat's style, then checks stills of its own design before saving it.

**Add one**:

1. Select the words in the transcript and choose **Slide**.
2. Type what the slide says.
3. Pick a look: **Paper** (ink on warm paper), **Ink** (paper on ink), or **Over the video** (a label over you).
4. Choose **Add slide**.

The AI editor also suggests slides with its first edit. Designing a slide needs the AI editor to be set up.

**Change one**: slides are listed in **B-roll** with what each says. Edit the text and click away, and the slide is designed again. If a slide hasn't been designed yet, choose **Design now**. Remove a slide the same way as b-roll.
