# Make shorts

The **Shorts** section is on the **Publish** tab of a long video.

## Make them

1. Pick **How many**: **1 short**, **Up to 3** or **Up to 5**.
2. Pick the **Length**: up to 30, 60 or 90 seconds.
3. Choose **Make shorts**.

The AI editor picks moments that open with a strong line and make sense on their own. If there aren't enough good moments, you get fewer shorts. It needs the transcript and the AI editor to be ready.

## What you get

Each short is its own vertical 9:16 project. It's listed under **Shorts** with its length and an **Open** button, and in the library as "Short from" the long video.

A short starts with the long video's cuts and its suggestions still waiting. Edit and export it like any project: the crop follows your face, and you can change anything without touching the long video.

In a short, the **Edit** tab shows where it was cut from, with **Open the long video**.

Shorts share the long video's prepared files, so they take almost no extra disk space. Deleting either one leaves the other.
